Happy Mother’s Day

By

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! It is beautiful outside here in Brimfield, can’t think of more perfect weather for Mother’s Day. The sun is shining, no rain!

Each year for Mother’s Day I usually want to plant flowers with the kids. We even started seedlings inside a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I hurt my back somehow and am stuck on the couch watching the kids play until daddy gets home from work. No planting flowers for me today :(

So, to take advantage of my time on the couch, I am posting some pictures from last month’s card class in Belchertown, MA.

Stampin' up! Pretties KitHere is a very simple Mother’s Day card I used to demonstrate Pretties Kit Flowers, and Embossing. The card base is Whisper White layered with Pretty in Pink Prints Designer Series Paper(DSP).This color DSP is from the Level 1 hostess Prints Pack. “Happy Mother’s Day” (All Holidays stamp set page 146) was stamped onto the DSP with VersaMark and then Heat Embossed with White EP.

*TIP – Make sure to use your embossing buddy before embossing on DSP. This will prevent the embossing powder sticking where you don’t want it to. And just so you know you can’t wipe off the powder, use the embossing buddy, and then try again. It doesn’t work very well, and you end up with embossed speckles around your greeting. Trust me, that is why you don’t see a close up of the embossing on this card! LOL! : )

Stampin' Up! Pretties KitNow onto the FUN part…PRETTIES!! Did you know that you can dye the white Pretties Flowers ANY color you want using different methods? Well, now you do and I am going to show you two ways right now! The large flower is stamped with Pretty in Pink Classic Ink using the “Itty Bitty Backgrounds” stamp set (page 110). Just stamp and let dry! The small flower was dyed with Pastels! Use a sponge dauber to apply dry pastels to your flower. With just your pastels and a Pretties Kit you can have 50 flowers colored with any of the 48 SU! colors to coordinate with any project! How cool is that?

The flowers are attached to the card with a Clear Rhinestone Brad (Also in the Pretties Kit!)

Here is what everyone else did with the same materials:

I loved the cards they made!

If you have purchased a Pretties Kit from me and would like to know some other ways you can dye your flowers, please contact me. I am putting together a Tip Sheet for the Pretties Kit and would be more than happy to share it with you!

OR…if you would like to order your own Pretties kit, or any other items in the SU! catalogs you can contact me to place your order. Your order can be shipped directly to your door, anywhere in the US.

Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Stamping! : )
