The frosting has not done anything to the paper or turned colors in any way. If you use too much of the frosting and glob it on, it may not dry all the way. I would think that would cause a problem over time with the paper. Also if you make it too thin, it can create a bubble on the paper. This bubble would be very delicate and break very easily.
