Back From Antigua!
By
Yes, I am back from Antigua, but my mind is still on the island!! The picture above is one of about 20 that I took of the sunset the last night we were there. On that Sunday night we went to a place called Shirley Heights for a big sunset party. This place is the biggest party and tourist spot every Sunday night. It is basically a bar set on a cliff! Anyone who knows me can tell you that I have a fear of heights and falling. Needless to say the bus ride up to this place was less than pleasant for me, but to see a sunset like this made it worth it!
Here is a quick pic of the Steel-Drum Band that was playing at Shirley’s that night:
I want to thank all of you for your lovely comments. You guys are the greatest I wish I could have taken you with me! We had a fabulous time!! I told Michael I am going to start buying lottery tickets so I can permanently move to the Sandals Grande Antigua!! The only problem is they don’t allow kids there so I would have to find a Beaches Resort that I like…
If you have never experienced an all-inclusive vacation before…I STRONGLY suggest it! I can’t tell you how much more relaxing a vacation is when you don’t have to worry about how much everything costs. Everything is paid for before you step foot in the resort. It puts new meaning to the word RELAXATION!! Not to mention the fact that my husband and I have not gone away on vacation alone since our honeymoon 8 years ago! Camping will never be the same again!! LOL
When we arrived at the resort they greated us with cold cloths to refresh ourselves and a glass of champagne (which they refilled over and over again while you waited for the check-in processing)! Then they took each of us to our rooms. Our rooms were HUGE! The King size beds had step stools to climb up into bed! Here was the view from our balcony!
Each day the weather was between 80-85 degrees, with beautiful sunny skies, and a wonderful breeze off the water! So, do you want to go there yet???
The food was great the alcohol was even better!! Each night we went out for a nice dinner. Basically there was food and drinks served 24/7. We also had a fully stocked mini bar in our room. It was restocked every day with bottled water, soda, juices, full bottles of champagne and red and white wine. We also had full bottles of vodka, rum, and whiskey to mix with the soda and juices! I promise I am not an alcoholic!!
Here is a picture of Michael and I at dinner…
We were at the Japanese Restaurant “Kimonos”. We both had a great time that night! Our food was prepared right in front of us and it was all fabulous! I even tried the Sushi, which was actually very good!
I could go on and on about what I loved about our vacation! The first day we were there we rented a wave runner, then the next day we went snorkeling! I don’t have pictures of that to share because I don’t have a waterproof camera. We went with 2 other couples so if I can get the pictures of that I will post those as well. We had a blast!
Well I guess I have to stop talking about how much of a great time I had. I will leave you with a picture I took from my breakfast table the last day we were there
Now I know why most people go back over and over! Have a great day!!
