Adventures with Wedding Invitations…
ByLately I have been very busy making Wedding Invitations for my Sister-In-Law. I offered to make her Invitations as a wedding present. I really had so much fun designing for her and I am really happy with the result. Today I am going to show you the start of my journey.
I am making Pocket Folder invitations. This is what the finished portfolio will look like:
I am using one full 8 1/2″X 11″ piece of Chocolate Chip to make each portfolio. The stamped imageĀ is from the “Together Forever” stamp set, and is heat embossed with VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder. (I will be posting a separate tutorial on embossing)
And here is what 140 Invitation Portfolios look like before they are assembled:
I am using Sticky Strip to adhere the tab you see on the bottom of the picture, in order to make the pocket.
Well, that is the first step on my Invitation Journey. Check back soon for a tutorial on embossing as well as more pictures of my Sister-In-Law’s Invitations!
Happy Stamping!

I was just wondering what the dimensions were that you used for each section and for the pocket? Also how did you mail this off? In what kind of envelope. I am thinking of making something similar to your idea. I’d like to make my own wedding invitations but I need to order the supplies soon so I can do them. Please let me know asap. Thanks.

I used 5″x7″ envelopes. I am sure you can get those online somewhere. When I created these invitations I needed the envelopes in a hurry and was able to buy them locally from ‘The Paper Store’. I will have a tutorial finished soon on how to make this invite from start to finish including the formatting instructions for Microsoft Word.

I was wondering if you ever posted the dimensions to your folder. I think you did a great job! My daughter has asked me to make her invitations for here. TIA!

I was wondering if you have the tutorial done, I am making my cousin’s wedding invitations and want to use this design and the dimensions would help, especially in ordering supplies.
Thanks
