Hello From Convention!!

Posted by: Jen | Comments (0)

I haven’t been writing for a few days because I was frantically getting ready for Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah! Well, here I am. We arrived yesterday in the early afternoon. It is so nice here, very hot but not humid!

Before I left home I didn’t have time to finish creating my swaps for Convention (I will post pics of them soon), so I stamped on the plane! The flight attendants got a real kick out of all us demos stamping on the plane.

I am staying in the Marriot across the street from the Convention Center. How convenient is that!! AND Shellie Gardner the co-founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up! is staying in our hotel too! I met her last year and she is SO nice. I have seen her and various members of her family throughout the day today. It is so exciting to be here and see them. Hopefully I will get another pic with her again this year.

Last night after we arrived Gwynne, Laura, and I went swimming and then did some sight seeing in the area. We are across the street from historic Temple Square. If you would like to learn a little about the Temple Square click here. This is a picture of the Mormon Temple in Temple Square during the day:

The Temple at night looked so striking, I couldn’t resist another picture. Check this out!!:

There were banners all over the city welcoming us to Salt Lake:

That was pretty much my first day in Salt Lake. Today was check in day for convention. I was able to shop at Momento Mall and best of all received my advanced copy of the NEW SU! CATALOG!!! it is beautiful and there is definitely something in this catalog for everybody. Some of my favorites like Tart n Tangy are going to be in the catalog!!! I was so excited about that. I will post some pics of Check-In day tomorrow.Right now it is midnight and I am cross eyed. So, I am going to bed. Talk to you tomorrow!!

Happy Stamping!

Color Challenge With Some Bling!

Posted by: Jen | Comments (0)

OK, it looks like my computer is fixed! So, I finally have time to show you my card for last weeks Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge. I hope you like it….

Stampin' Up! Birthday BlingThis weeks challenge was to create a project using Almost Amethyst, Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron. As I was unpacking the my stamping cart from vacation, I grabbed the first stamp set I saw…Eat Cake. This stamp set is great for any birthday, so if you like it make sure you contact me soon…It is going to retire on August 10th! The card I came up with is actually very simple to make and has a little bling to “Kick It Up A Notch”.

The card base is So Saffron cardstock random stamped with So Saffron Classic Ink using a sparkly stamp from the set. “Happy Birthday” is stamped in the lower right-hand corner with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink. Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon is tied around the card with a basic knot.

Stampin' Up! Eat Cake This stamp set is a 2 Step-Stamping set, which means, you use two or more stamps to create the completed stamped image. 2 Step-stamping is so much fun a very versatile. To make the presents on the front of this card I first stamped them on Whisper White Cardstock with Almost Amethyst and Wild Wasabi. Then using Versamark Ink I stamped the decorations over the present, added Heat-N-Stick Powder, heat embossed, then sprinkled with Silver Glitter. I used Paper Snips to trim around each present and attached them with dimensionals to the card front.

I just love how the glitter sparkles in the sun! I hope you liked this one. Make sure you come back tomorrow…the retired accesories list will be announced tomorrow and all items listed are only available while supplies last! See you tomorrow….

Where have I Been?

Posted by: Jen | Comments (0)

Sorry! I know I haven’t been very good about consistent posting over the past few months, but I may have fixed my computer finally! I am hoping to get back to business, and post a few times each week.

The latest news on my computer is the motherboard fried a RAM chip. I realized that right before I left for vacation last week. We had the best family vacation we have ever had in Vermont at Smugglers Notch Resort! When I came back from Vermont two new RAM chips were installed and I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system. So far everything is up and running with no serious problems. So, think happy thoughts for me because if I have to troubleshoot this computer one more time I think I will loose it!

As soon as I came back from vacation I created a card for this weeks Splitcoast color challenge. I am working on that post now so check back real soon!

Happy Stamping!
