Simple Snowman
Posted by: | CommentsI just love this set! As soon as I saw it in the new catalog I knew that I had to have it.
I collect snowmen, and pretty much have every snowman stamp set in the current catalog. This stamp set in particular really caught my eye because I have snowman decorations that look almost identical to this set, so I took that as a sign that I HAD to purchase this set…LOL! Another reason I love this set is it makes a really quick and simple card. Pair that with the “Wintergreen” Designer Series Paper (DSP) and you are flying through your Holiday cards!
The card to the left was a card I designed for a recent “playshop”(I heard someone at a workshop call it a playshop because she felt like she was a little kid playing with the stamps, I thought it was cute). The base of the card is Always Artichoke card stock (4 1/4″ x 11″) layered with DSP (3″x4″ ….this will give you 12 equal pieces of DSP and you won’t waste a bit!!).
The snowman is stamped with Basic Black Classic Ink and then colored with Always Artichoke, Sage Shadow, Certainly Celery, and Pumpkin Pie. This image is layered onto Sage Shadow and Always Artichoke card stock (each layer is 1/4″ larger to make a border that is 1/8″ around) and attached to the card base with dimensionals. Soft Sky Double-stitched Ribbon is tied around the top.
If you would like to make this card for the Holidays, now is the time to order that Designer Series Paper. Take advantage of the Paper Party promotion and pick one pack of Designer Series Paper FREE with every three packs of Designer Series Paper.

Glitter Window Snowman

Here is a quick and cute card I made recently at an “Amy’s Awesome Addicts” meeting. Amy’s Awesome Addicts is the name of my upline demonstrator group. We get together once per month share ideas, talk a little business, learn new techniques, win DOOR PRIZES, and we complete make-n-takes. Guests are welcome and we have a great time, so if you are interested in seeing what our meetings are all about just let me know and I will tell you when our next meeting is. You can win door prizes too! Woo-hoo!
OK, back to the card…. I thought this card would be perfect to showcase Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper(DSP). The base of the card is a 12″ x 3″ piece of Real Red card stock, folded in half and layered with “Dashing” DSP. Believe it or not I have not purchased this package of DSP yet, but I will before this month is out!
The very cute snowman from the Merry and Bright stamp set is hiding behind a glitter window. I’ll try to give you some basic instructions on how to create the glitter window, it is a lot easier than it may sound. Before you adhere the DSP to the card base, punch a 1 1/4″ circle in the DSP. To create the glitter window, you are just going to use clear packing tape and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Place a small piece of packing tape behind your cutout circle. Sprinkle glitter over the packing tape in the circle and you have a glitter window!! Stamp the snowman on a piece of Whisper White card stock stock slightly larger than the circle and decorate as you wish. Now adhere your snowman behind the glitter window. Finally you can adhere the DSP to your Real Red card base.
The scallop punch can be used to create a simple frame around your window. First take Old Olive card stock and punch a 1 1/4″ circle. Next center the cut out circle in the scallop punch and punch out your frame! I also used the 1/16″ hand held punch to embellish my frame. You can adhere this to your card using snail or mini glue dots.
I hope you have a chance to make a quick card like this for the Holidays. If you have any questions about the glitter window contact me anytime 413-284-4315 or JFurt3425@charter.net
Don’t forget, the Holiday Mini Catalog and the Paper Party promotions are only available until November 30th. If you would like to purchase the Merry and Bright stamp set or receive a FREE pack of DSP CONTACT ME TODAY!
